Dr. Chunhe Yang received his B.E. and M.D. degrees in Mining engineering from Jiangxi university of science and technology, and Geotechnics engineering from Wuhan Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1983 and 1986, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Geo-Engineering from University of Nevada in 1999. Since Sep. 2000, Dr. Yang has been in Wuhan Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a Professor. In 2019, he was elected as an academician of the CAE Member
Dr. Yang does research in energy storage in rock salt formation. He focuses on the theoretical and technological advancements on water solution mining for salt cavern and energy underground storage. National initiatives including the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Class B Leading Science and Technology Project, the National 973 Program, and the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund have all provided funding to his group. In the subject of salt cave energy storage, he has won numerous honors and made a number of scientific breakthroughs.
Dr. Tongtao Wang received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil engineering and oil & gas storage and transportation engineering from China university of petroleum (East China), Qingdao, China, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Since Dec. 2021, Dr. Wang has been in Wuhan Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a Professor.
Dr. Wang does research in energy storage in rock salt formation. He has presided over more than 20 projects, including Ministry of Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. In addition to authorizing eighteen national invention patents and participating in five industry and group standards, he has published fifty-one scholarly papers in Engineering, and Applied Energy journals.
1. Introduction.- 2. Nonlinear creep intrinsic modeling and mechanical characterization of layered salt rocks.- 3. Dissolutional characteristics of salt rocks and modeling of water-solution mining for salt cavern.- 4. Engineering application and optimization of debrining for salt cavern gas storage.- 5. Coupled mass and heat transfer mechanism in gas-wellbore-salt cavern system.
