Leblanc is best known for his creation of Arsène Lupin, the titular character of a series of detective short stories and novels. Lupin's adventures were first published in the French magazine, Je sais tout, in 1905. The series was such a success that Leblanc dedicated his life's work to writing the Arsène Lupin stories.
